imaxin|software will implement Opentrad at the Provincial Council of A Coruña

imaxin|software has obtained the awarding of the open request for tenders "Contracting of the bidirectional translation system (Galician - Spanish / Spanish - Galician) for the Provincial Council of A Coruña".

That way, the Provincial Council of A Coruña will have a Galician-Spanish bidirectional translation system in all of its departments. This system will help on the translations of short texts, archives of several formats and web pages.

Esta semana se ha lanzado el renovado sitio web de San Sebastián Turismo. Entre otras novedades se encuentra la versión en catalán, con la que se quiere ofrecer una atención especial a los visitantes que llegan desde Cataluña (un 25% del total).

La versión en catalán del sitio web se genera automáticamente mediante Opentrad. Es decir, cuando un usuario pulse sobre el link “ca”, se le mostrará la página traducida por Opentrad. Gracias a la implantación de este sistema, todo el contenido...

New proper-name recogniser for Opentrad

From now on Opentrad includes a new tool: apertium-pn-recognizer, which detects and highlights proper nouns in texts which do not need translation. This process aims to avoid a very common error in machine translators: translation of proper names that can also be common names according to dictionaries. New language pair for translation in Opentrad: Breton-French

The new open-source machine translation engine Apertium just released the new version 0.1.0 for the Breton-French language pair. This language pair is the result from the collaboration between Prompsit Language Engineering, the Universitat d'Alacant and the Ofis ar Brezhoneg (Breton Language Office). The translator has an approximate coverage of 85% and the error rate is between 35% and 45%.

La herramienta Apertium TinyLex, que facilita la consulta de los diccionarios de Opentrad en dispositivos móviles que admitan MIDP 2.0, es desde ahora compatible con los dispositivos Palm que utilicen la aplicación PalmOpenDic, la cual permite la visualización y búsqueda de palabras en los diccionarios. Este proyecto ha sido desarrollado por Enrique Benimeli y financiado parcialmente por la Universitat d'Alacant.
